High-power busbars

800A-5000A EG-BX-E IP55

High-power busbars are capable of supporting rated current up to 5000A. They prove appropriate everywhere there is a need for powering single- and three-phase devices: in commercial and industrial facilities. EG System offers high-power busbars of the EG-BX-E type, supporting rated current within the range between 800A and 5000A. They feature a durable, sandwich-type structure as well as safe and tight housing. The conductors can be made in two ways: of aluminium or electrolytic copper (copper purity is up to 99.9%).

Therefore, power transmission losses are minimal. The insulation is made of self-extinguishing material resistant to high temperatures.

The application of special connectors make joining subsequent busbars a rapid and safe process. It all makes high-power busbars achieve high values of short-circuit withstand currents and relatively low unit reactance.

Our offer includes a possibility of manufacturing bespoke busbars:

  • using non-standard components;
  • 4- or 5-wire system busbars;
  • distribution busbars with 3 outlet sockets and one 3 m element;
  • using special outlet boxes.

Water-resistant busbars

800A-5000A EG-BX-R IP68

Water-resistant busbars is another sub-category of devices that prove useful in high-power distribution and transmission in the open air, earth or places exposed to external weather conditions. EG System offers EG-BX-R main lines of IP68 protection class. EG-BX-R busbars can support rated current of: 800A, 1000A, 1250A, 1600A, 2000A, 2500A, 3200A, 4000A, 5000A. Conductors can be made of aluminium (A) or electrolytic copper (CU).

Both solutions feature low resistance and, in consequence, minimal losses in electrical power transmission. Sandwich-type structure of conductors with resin insulation of the IP68 protection class along the entire length of the cable makes it possible to be used safely when exposed to external weather conditions. They can be successfully mounted on external walls of buildings.

Busbars can be equipped with modular instruments, which makes the assembly and extension relatively simple and intuitive. 

Our offer includes the possibility of manufacturing bespoke devices or according to certain specifications. Therefore, it is possible to:

Fire-resistant busbars

800A-5000A EG-BX-F EI90-EI120

Fire-resistant busbars are applied at high-power transmission and distribution everywhere there is increased fire hazard. EG System offers models that include either aluminium or copper conductors. The structure of EG-BX-F busbars and applied materials are capable of supporting electrical current of up to 5000A. The main line is located within a metal housing with a thickness of 1.5 mm. The busbar successfully handles heat dissipation. The EG-BX-F system also features high resistance to mechanical damage and electrodynamic tensions.

The BX-E/R series is indifferent to external weather conditions. It is capable of providing continuity of power supply even during a fire – up to 180 minutes. The main line in the EG-BX-F system is fully compatible with the EG-BX-E system main line. EG-BX-F forms a sandwich-type structure, owing to which it achieves high values of short-circuit withstand currents and small unit reactance. Low resistance indexes are possible owing to the application of large cross-sections of phase conductors. Such main lines comply with domestic and international standards (CEI EN 61439-6, EN 61439-6, IEC 61439-6).

Distribution busbars

250A-1000A EG-BS

Distribution busbars are an alternative to traditional cables. They allow supplying power to medium-power devices. EB-BS busbars are based on modern structural solutions. Low cross-section has been achieved owing to the application of special conductor brackets inside the busbars as well as galvanised steel housing. These busbars are useful in sports facilities, large-scale commercial facilities or industrial systems. One of the advantages of distribution busbars is the possibility of supplying power to several receivers by means of a single line.

Other advantages include the possibility of using in places requiring a robust structure, compact housing and aesthetic appearance. As they are dedicated mainly to power distribution, there is a possibility to apply outgoing sockets every 0.5 m on one side of the busbar. EG-BS supports rated currents between 250A and 1000A in the system and air insulation.

Depending on the design specification, conductors in the busbar can be made of aluminium or copper in the following arrangement:

  • 3 conductors, 3P + PE (housing)
  • 4 conductors, 3P + N + PE (housing)

Low-power busbars

63A-160A EG-MB

Everywhere there is need for assembling a power system to support lower power ranges, doubts arise as to how to achieve the best value for money. There are two options for the investor: cables or busbars. The only advantage of cables is their lower price. There are far more benefits resulting from the application of busbars. EG-MB is suitable mainly for supplying power to low-power receivers, such as plug-in sockets or direct power supply of devices. The current values are either 63A, 100A, or 160A. Light and robust structure could be designed owing to the application of galvanised steel for manufacturing the busbar housing. Housing protection class is IP55.

Modular design consisting of prefabricated elements allows easy assembly, extension and modernisation each time you need it. It is possible to arrange the busbars in the following configuration:

  • 4 conductors, 3P + N + PE (housing)
  • 5 conductors, 3P + N + PE

Lighting busbars

25A-40A EG-BLP

Lighting busbars in the EG-BLP system can be classified to a category of low-power busbars. Supported current power ranges between 25A and 40A and the busbars are dedicated mainly to supplying power to light sources. A sandwich-type structure and low net weight do not prevent installing even on light structures. The structure of busbars consists of an aluminium housing with IP55 protection class, with conductors made of high quality copper (copper purity of up to 99.9%), which guarantees low voltage drops.

It also guarantees lower reactance, lower power loss, lower operating costs of up to 10% compared to a traditional electrical system based on wires and cables.

The lines with EG-BLP can be built using: supplying heads, straight elements with a length of 3 m and 1 m, flexible angular elements, outlet boxes with or without protection devices. 

Busbars are available in the following configurations:

  • 2 conductors, [1P + N] + PE (housing)
  • 4 conductors, [3P + N] + PE (housing)
  • 6 conductors, [3P + N] + [1P + N] + PE (housing)
  • 8 conductors, [3P + N] + [3P + N] + PE (housing)
  • 12 conductors, [3P + N] + [3P + N] + [3P + N] + PE (housing)
  • 16 conductors, [3P + N] + [3P + N] + [3P + N] + [3P + N] + PE (housing)

Busbars for movable receivers

100A-400A EG-BT-E

Busbars for movable receivers prove very useful in supplying electrical power to devices that move along a predefined scheme: production lines, overhead cranes, trackage, assembly lines or movable actuators. There are far more places where movable busbars are successfully applied: high stacking warehousing systems, power supply of cranes, automation in steel mills, extraction industry, automotive manufacturing plants or transshipment ports.

What makes this type of busbars stand out

against other solutions? Undoubtedly, the advantages include high quality and, in consequence, reliability, durability, operating safety and cost effectiveness.

These are the devices that work failure-free for years. Their advantage also includes the possibility of installing new or modernising the existing systems.

The EG-BT-E system is assembled within a rigid housing, with various copper cross-sections. It supports currents within the range from 100A to 400A in the case of IP10 and from 100A to 200A in the case of IP20. A standard length amounts to 3 metres, but they can be manufactured in other lengths (not exceeding 3 metres).

Depending on the design requirements, it is possible to arrange the busbars in the following configuration:

  • 3 conductors, 3P + PE (housing)
  • 4 conductors, 3P + N + PE (housing)

above all, efficient and optimal power supply organization for single and three-phase devices with
one line help. The busbars are also characterized by an uncomplicated assembly process and
possibility of adapting to various, also the largest ones, such as shopping malls,
production lines or market halls. There are also busbars in large-area halls
used to connect independent power sources.

LV busducts are solutions designed to distribute low power. Advantage
